I could've beaten that too (I'd have to run very fast though!) , if my office had moved to Burjuman - unfortunately this didn't happen........

Takes me about the same time to get to work and back. But then, I live in the Springs and work in DMC. Where do you work?

My husband calls it the armpit of dubai.........take a guess marginally worse than burdubai........

It's a bit less than the going rate, but not much. 20k plus is more for Creative Directors.

I used to commute 800 miles a week
Then I took 20mins-1hr to cross SZR
Now I work from the garden half the week. Yup Dubai is a nightmare

I think the basic salary is not good, if for example your wife was to get pregnant you really would be well and truly knackered big time! The housing allowance isn't good either.

The way you are justifying this is that the two of you are working. Look at it this way, if it was just you and your salary your wouldn't be able to manage. No chance. By pooling your two salaries and allowances together it makes a bit more viable.

They aren't even offering you a roof over your head really! think about it.
