Default ADHD medication in Dubai

I’m considering a move to Dubai and am trying to due my due diligence around ADHD medication.

I have a child who is diagnosed and medicated. What is the procedure to ensure repeat prescriptions?

I know we are allowed to bring in a one month supply, provided we have the correct paperwork. What happens once they run out?

do we need to go through the process, again, of getting an official diagnosis in Dubai?

do we get a family doctor to prescribe? How easy/hard is it to get a doctor?

is Dexedrine available on prescription?

TIA

If you and your family have medical insurance then typically it’s very easy to get a doctor and therefore any medication that is prescribed. My suggestion would be making any medical records available about your child to your new family doctor here to smooth the process. I have no idea if that particular drug is available but if not then any doctor here would prescribe an alternative if they consider it’s necessary.

Thank you so much for your reply.
I have since found out that only 3 types of medication for ADHD is available. Unfortunately, not the one we need!

It’s reassuring to know that it’s easy to get a doctor. That is proving to be very challenging in other parts of the world!

thanks again
