Does anyone know if you need to take your original passport to add a mortgage (car loan) to a car registration, or is a passport copy sufficient?

am looking to re-finance my car so its already registered in may name!

a copy, I only ever take copies when I register or sell for that matter, so a copy should suffice. Miss E might know.

Generally just copies. Maybe check with the bank you are dealing with.

the bank i am looking at only need a passport copy and copy of empolyment contract!
