Try Desertwives - send a PM to BlueCat if you're interested...

It's a private message - kind of like an email sent via the board.
Click on private messages on the top right hand corner of your screen, and then type in blue cat as the recipient of the message....
There is also the Dubai Lady's Club on the Jumeirah Beach Road. Have never been myself for obvious reasons but I'm told it is nice (but pricey)...

I'm pretty sure that you can arrange to use their spa/salon services without taking out membership for those times that you want to spoil yourself...
The lady posters will, I'm sure, give you loads of tips for suitable girly things to do around town.

beauty parlours, don't know any in mirdiff, but there must be gazillions of them...
dubai ladies club is lovely, has gym, tennis, and a gorgeous beach...but only worth joining if you are going to use the facilities. It isn't particularly expensive to join though, as far as i'm aware...

shops...depends what sort of things you're talking about. For shopping malls, the best ones are mall of the emirates and festival city i guess.
