Default Abu Dhabi Phantom Traffic Fines

Morning my lurvlies...

Well, confirmed with AD Traffic dept that I do not have to swap my Dubai licence to a AbDab licence, they just open a AbDab traffic file for me..

However, it would appear that a sizeable amount of traffic fines already exist in my name, dating back to the days following the sale of my vehicle before leaving last time, and all on a DXB Export plate.

5000AED of fines recorded in a 2hr period on multiple vehicles..!!

Now, the traffic dept took one look and realised that something was amiss, but failed to advise me how I go about clearing these..

Any AbDabbers out there know who I need to go to to clear this up?

Default Re: Abu Dhabi Phantom Traffic Fines

Ok, an update...

Abu Dhabi have stated its a Dubai issue, as the plate being registered in my name is a Dubai issue. I can see the sense in this statement.

Dubai Traffic at Al Barsha say its an RTA issue, since the fine is legit, just the recording of the information (an RTA job) is incorrect. I can see the sense in this statement...

However, RTA refuse to accept they have made a mistake and say that Dubai Traffic police need to cancel the fines.. This makes no sense to me, since the speeding happened, by the cars in question, carrying the incorrectly registered Export plates..

Anyone know someone in authority at RTA, coz Al Barsha gave me the run around yesterday and I would rather speak to someone who can actually accept when they are in the wrong..
