Default Abu Dhabi - anyone selling household effects?

I am furnishing a new apartment and delivery dates offered for new essentials are now way past Eid. In particular I am urgently looking for bed that can be used eventually as spare/guest bed and delivered in the next couple of days. 055 9 223 124

omg - what are you sleeping on now??? I don't have a bed to sell you, but you might like to consider getting an inflatable bed from Carrefour as a stop-gap measure. They are quite comfortable & good for camping, or as an extra bed if you ever have a wild party and loads of people need to sleep over. There is a built-in pump so you don't have to inflate it yourself....

thanks - I am still in a hotel but get the keys on Sunday. At the moment I have a maid's matress... but will look into the blow up bed suggestion. Thanks!

don't they have notice boards at supermarkets where people that are moving offer their stuff...often you can find it there as good as new and cheap....then just go off to Ikea to get a new matress and you are sorted...

Thanks - have explored both and second hand dealers etc. Ikea not offering deliveries until after eid. I may try dubizzle and get a man in a van but thought would try this board first.

Spinney's in Khalidiya has a noticeboard where you can find some stuff...

If you're looking for cheap & cheerful essentials then the Iranian Souk at the Meena (port) has the best bargains in town for things like wash-baskets, basins, pots & pans... If you are a little more flush, then The One is pretty good. Or, try the furniture show-room downstairs from the Carrefour on Airport Road, they hold stock & will deliver...

Happy home-making, dearie.

OK, thinking about it I can't remember ever seeing beds at the Carrefour - but I am a bit absent minded so they may well have them. There's a lot of dining furniture, coffee tables etc - the style is predominantly heavy wood, mock-oriental.... You could also try the furniture stores on Al Muroor road, although i imagine that they cater more for the OTT tasteless grandeur of the local market...

Thanks for all suggestions. 2 reasonably comfortable nights on the blow up bed. Real bed (and fridge) being delivered tonight. Also trawling noticeboards when I pass them - Abella is nearest to me. Getting there!! Thanks again everyone.
