The tax has always existed, at least since 99 when I first arrived, it just hasn't been enforced. I've been paying it for the last few years and everyone is meant to pay it, so get used to it.

Didn't pay it for 15 odd years, but have a feeling hubby's last employer must've paid it for a couple of years, think it's tied to their license renewal

Not too many parks when I lived there. Plenty of electrical pylons though. AD is basically Dubai but minus the fun.....

I've lived in both and have far more fun in AD. Dubai is like a holiday resort. I can get more serious drinking done in AD.
