Hi, Work are sending me on a course in Doha for two days next week so I decided to get there Thursday night and see what the place is like for the weekend.
Does anyone know of any decent watering holes / bars where expats hang out? My friend is coming with me (we are both single females in our early 30's) and don't want to end up in the wrong place or feel intimidated, just want to go out and have a good time. We're staying at a central Corniche hotel.
Also, any info on 'must do's' while we're there - otherwise we probably won't move off our sunbeds!
Thanks

ok, to enter a club, you must be a member. You can become a member by either having your passport or RP with you. Thy will send the data on the document to CID, take a picture of you, and then issue you a pass.So make sure you have your passports with you when you go out. The clubs here are not very exciting, but, if you really want to go, I would suggest 1. Bubbles at the Ramada, the bar at the 'W" (forgot the name of the bar), Lava at the Intercon , then there is the Irish Hap at the Sheraton. Here is what you can't do...you can't wear skirts or pants that do not cover your knees, you can't show your shoulders or a lot of decollete. (this includes at the bars, clubs and restaurants).

Yup, that is, or so I am told, where you find the beer bellied, ruddy cheeked, lecherous specimens......oh, and those without ruddy cheeks and beer bellies, which not only are lecherous ,but also very persistent.

Irish Harp at the Sheraton - which is also on the Corniche.
It will be packed full of people Males & females, live music.
As there's live musing & drinking - You'll have to "join" - but you can do that on the spot for, I think QR30.
Probably the best place to go, some of every kind of people in Qatar.
Also has pub meals.
Do not go to the first floor bar unless you want to make a quick few dollars.
You will need your passports.
