***Khobar - Please Help***
Hi All
This forum has been very helpful. Still I have some specific questions
I might get a job offer from a very reputable international firm in Al Khobar. I dont know the compensation yet. I am a Chartered Accountant, basically Indian, but currently in UK. I am planning to travel alone there.
My questions are
1. Is it safe out there?
2. If I am going to live alone there , what are the options for living there? Is getting accomodation very difficult.
3. What is the cost of living?
4. Is it possible to stay in Bahrain and commute daily?
5. How is the weather?
Please reply....
Regards
Vicky

Isn't Vicky a woman's name? A woman being offered employment in KSA?

Hi, sorry - looks like a girls name. I've not got an answer for you really as I don't live that side. But I understand people do live in Bahrain and commute - don't know how it exactly works - someone should be able to help you tho.
Yes, it's safe - or as safe as anywhere out here. The weather is bloody cold just now here in Riyadh - probably warmer on the coast. Gets humid there too.
Cost of living would be cheaper if you lived in Saudi - higher in Bahrain cos of the options available to you.

Khobar / Dammam / Dhahran is supposed to be a nice area in which to live, you have the coast and of course the 'Causeway' allowing you to visit Bahrain. We have friends in Dhahran who enjoy it very much out there, and we're hoping to visit them sometime next month.
The casuseway - which links Bahrain to KSA - can be pretty bust at certain times, so this might add some time to your travel time if you are thinking of commuting. As has been mentioned, you may be better off financially living in KSA and spending the weekends on Bahrain.

Search Saudi Aramco's expat forum for the type of information you are after...I know many live in Al Khobar or Dammam.
