Hi there, I'm new to this site. First time posting.
I had an interview for a job with the Qatar Stars League this week. I work in the UK in sports PR and have been interested in coming out with 2022 in mind.
I have 13 years experience. I am 31 and have a wife and eight month old girl.
It's early days yet and with Eid starting I don't expect to hear anything for a couple of weeks.
So far negotiations have consisted of being told accommodation would be included. I was asked what salary expectations were, although with three people on a conference call I felt a tad on the spot. I left them with my current salary (45k) and will take it from there.
Does anyone have any experience of what to expect in a role such as this for the QSL or QFA.
Also, can people give me an honest opinion of life in Doha and if it's suitable for a young family?
Thanks guys.

Welcome to BE and good luck!
Might want to have a browse around the main bit of the ME section as life in Doha has come up a fair bit lately, so you might find some answers already

The cost of living in Doha is a lot more than the UK. If the offer includes acom/car/medical/school then you should be OK with an equivalent salary.
The way you live is a big factor....If you enjoy going to the local for a few beers with your mates then Doha is not for you. If you enjoy going to the shopping centre then Doha is perfect.

Yes, if you have accommodation, and schooling, then you will enjoy it. Doha is a nice safe place for families. I found the cost of living (food and shopping) to be much lower than the UK (excepting housing). There are no charges for using landline phones, and if your accommodation is paid for then this will likely mean that you have no utilities costs either. I actually found that there was nothing I needed to spend my money on.
Word of caution though, just make sure that you get on with your boss. Employer relations/laws are not the same as in Europe.
