UAE Job Offer
Greetings,
I spent about 18 months in Saudi a couple of years back and have an opportunity to get a job in Abu Dhabi this year. I have been looking at the figures and am not so sure it would be a genuinely suitable option.
I am a teacher and the school is the Institute of Applied Technology. There are some poor reviews from obviously disgruntled ex-workers out there. Does anybody have any knowledge of this place?
I would be coming with my wife who would then hopefully become a local hire at a hospital (she works in cancer treatment). The salary is not confirmed but the advertised upper-end is 15,000Dir/month.
The sticking point for me, having experienced it first-hand in Saudi, is accommodation. I believe it is a little better in terms of vacancies but the married allowance is only 11,600Dir/month. That's just shy of 140k pa and doesn't look anywhere near. Everywhere looks to be double this. I would prefer to be on a compound with some facilities.
Does this look decent enough to move or would we be relying too heavily on my wife finding work too? Also, as a local hire, I would assume any company would not give my wife housing allowance on top of a salary.
Cheers guys

If you want something bigger/better you can top up from your salary.
When your wife gets working it would make life easier from that perspective.

khitan004 - Hello,
My question pertains to one of your earlier posts from a few years ago. Specifically about a Multi-visit visa. Your theory seemed credible because duration of stay is 30 days but did it work? were you able to effectively extend your length of stay from 90 or 180? I am asking because I may be in a heap of trouble depending on your answer. My Multi Visit Work visa expires today and I have just returned from Manama.
