TDIC
Hi there, I have been trawling through the previous threads but have not found anything on the Tourism and Development Investment Company in Abu Dhabi.
I have had initial discussions on a potential role that does interest me but before I dive into the whole recruitment saga I would be interested in any information that people have on TDIC from experience or hearsay.
Are they known as a good employer? Their portfolio of projects is impressive but is it masking underlying issues?
Thanks

So as long as I don't mind upward facing dog and reverse cowgirl (that is a yoga position isn't it!?!). It would seem that they are a good employer

Well they are well funded and have lots going on. How long for is anyones guess really but so far so good. I have no idea what it's like on the 'inside' though.

Re: TDIC
if you can...
nonchelantly bowl into meetings late, play on your Blackberry, take more important calls 'I'm in Spinney's sweetie anything you fancy for dinner?', look distinctly uninterested due to the fact you have no authority to make any decisions, and bugger off to whoknowswhere after about 20 mins.
and like yoga and Audis
you'll fit the Senior Manager role just fine
Sorry stereotyping from personal experience there. They are actually a very good co to work for.

Re: TDIC
hmh like the fact that they built a certain prestige bridge far too quickly and cut corners, and now having to reactify these problem areas. and also a prestige hotel close to some fast cars is now mostly closed because it was built too quickly and is being rebuilt. yes ad is building some unusual infrastructure but they need to sometimes slow down a tad and build it right the first time around.

Re: TDIC
Their recruitment process is insane, you have to go through various tests, to include an hours session with a Psychologist.
I knew some one who had an interview with them, feedback of the recruitment dept was, they were very young and inexperienced in interviewing. The HOD during the interview slagged off the CEO/COO, not ideal....
Give them a year and they will go down the same sad sorry route as the leading property development company we all know, Building the Nation, hee hee...

Good slogan, expensive adverts - shame it hasn't worked!
