Default Question about welding jobs

Could anyone tell me whether it's easy to obtain work for a fabricator/welder in Dubai?

Does anyone know an approximate salary in Dirham's per year?

Can anyone recommend recruitment agencies specialising in this type of work, who would handle the Visa process for us?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

work of this nature is done by the Asian workforce who have built Dubai, they are paid peanuts and generally not treat very well at all.

You'd be better looking for superviser/management work in a related field...wages for actual work here are pitiful by western standards.

Welding and fabrication can go advance levels here like pipeline welding and thats more critical where an indian won't do such a thing. Or underwater welding through diving. Such jobs are usually within oil and gas or marine companies. Dubai hasn't that many options except in Jabel Ali. so you better off looking somewhere in Abu Dhabi. For oil and gas the salary depends on how critical the welding and how risky. Best off look at monstergulf.com

Underwater stuff would be highly specialised and not done by an ordinary welder.

Thats why normal ordinary welding jobs here are paid little unless you can offer a more specialized welding. If you can you can get a decent wage and a very high salary. Otherwise you will be looking at 100quids a month as a salary.

I just noticed the OP is going to Perth. Why the hell would you want to work in this dump as a welder when you are about to arrive in the best spot on the planet where salaries for GOOD welders are great?
