Default Moving jobs within Abu Dhabi

Does anyone know the latest position re moving jobs in Abu Dhabi. The person concerned is a Brit senior civil engineer with a masters degree but only started working on the Abu Dhabi project in January but it's looking like the project might be put on hold and he doesn't want to have to move out of UAE particularly as the Company has said he may need to transfer to Qatar! I am not sure of the rules these days. Will he need a no ojection letter. Can anyone help? Thanks

Apparently... Earn more than 12,000 a month + have a degree = no NOC needed.

Or just move to Dubai, won't need one then either.

Thanks for that - just been told he has a Dubai visa but works in AD so there may be some hope if he wants an AD visa. As BB has pointed it may well depend who they see on the day but I expect it may well come down to wasta from the new sponsor. New rules but the old ways are still the best
