Default Looking for a job in UAE Please Help

Hello

Im new on here and was wondering if someone could help me I am currently looking into moving to UAE - Dubai/Abu Dhabi pref. I have a wife and 2 kids.

My wife is a specialist when it comes to hair and makeup and she has been offered a few jobs from Dubai and Abu Dhabi.

I am currently working as an IT engineer and have around 6/7 years experience in the IT sector. I have been on Gulftalent and dubizzle websites to apply for jobs in the UAE for a few months now without any response. I also have a good sales background.

Our plan was to sell up here and move to dubai we would have around 20k GBP cash with us to start our life in dubai we have accomodation sorted in dubai for £1400 a month and my wife will be working at a well known hair salon on a salary of 10,000AED per month. Would it be possible for me to move to dubai and stay with here while i look for a job (visa wise)

I think its abit too risky to do this and its probably better for me to find a job while here but that seems to be very difficult.

If anyone could help me it would be much appreciated.
Could you point out any sites that maybe helpful or any contact details i could contact.

Any advise would help

Thanks in advance

I think your wife would need to be a teacher or lawyer type profession to be able to sponsor her husband (there are specifics which I don't know, but I'm fairly confident a beauty therapist won't be included).

If you have a British Passport, you get 30 day visit visa on arrival (extendable to 60 days for a nominal amount) which you could use to look for a job. If you don't find anything in the first 60 days, you can drive for approx 1 hour to Oman border, cross and come back on same day with a fresh 30 days visit visa.

The main issue would be surviving on 10,000 aed per month for a family of 4 until you found yourself a job.

get a job first. Don't sell assets to pay for an extended holiday here. Don't convert GBP to USD/AED when GBP is at an all-time low, and the USD is overvalued.

Don't know about the UAE market, but here in Saudi, the jobs market is very slow these days with the economic slow down, and will probably get worse in the next couple of months as the year end draws in and most companies start preparing for next year.

As for IT, again here in Saudi, the market is dominated by guys from India / Pakistan who will work for far less than you're probably used to. Its a competitive market, so be prepared for quite a few knock backs.

Good luck.
