Job Applied for in AD then Al Ain
Hi Folks,
I have just sent off my CV for a post in AD/AL Ain (eventually)
The post I am after is paying £70k per annum plus an allowances package. That's about as much info as they are giving. I reckon that will be about 34k UAED per month basic plus ????
Having read some (by no means all) of the threads i have a feel for what sort of allowances are normally given but not really any idea what the going rate should be for AD or Al Ain. I understand this tends to be a matter for negotiation.
This is all assuming i get an interview . But hey I am the half full type
I will be coming alone so looking for some advice as to what my living expenses may be on average, still not sure if accom is provided
I know its all a bit vague but any useful info/pointers will be gratefully received
Cheers
Wookey

Did, I place this in the wrong forum? Ask in the wrong way?
I was hoping someone would have replied with some advice to help me make some decisions as to whether this job will be worth taking
But cheers to those that read the thread anyway

Fair enough Meow lol,
I am fairly happy with the basic for the position but its a Supervisor's £90k/Team leaders £70k posts in Aircraft Avionic Engineering with AMMROC. It's at the AD International airport initially until they open up their repair facility at Al Ain. I will be bringing 27 years experience, 20 as a supervisor, the last 10 in junior/middle management.
It's substantially more than I earn for HM finest at the moment but I must confess I dont know if that's a cocompetitiveage for the area
It's the allowances package that is a complete mystery. I have seen some examples on here but I am unsure as to what the going rate is for accom costs and vehicle rental etc. And therefore not 100% sure what to negotiate up to when the time comes. Though i was chatting to a fellow who has some contacts and he said the accom may come free, with vehicles provided too, so not sure what else they may offer
I wont be requiring school fees initially and wondered whether it could be negotiated in other ways ie more flights home perhaps. Needless to say those are some of the questions I will have to ask but if anyone has any experience of allowance package negotiation, I appreciate any advice, this will be my first interview in 27 years !
Cheers

sod it - get an interview from them if only for the practice. if you get to the them giving you an offer stage, come back here and ask for advice. you've nothing to lose by going for an interview.
