Tired is an unknown quantity at this point
Default Finacial Advisor

Hi,

I am considering taking a job offer with a leading independent concern. I have never worked as a financial advisor but am CeMAP qualified and was wondering if anyone could give me some advice on what to expect if I did infact decide to take the position. I'm 45 and have previously been a successful appliance salesman.

Thanking you in advance

Combine the two products. Will certainly save us customers time.

I'll have a new tumble dryer and an ISA please.

Go for it! Life's too short.

And how can you be an adviser with no knowledge or proper qualifications? I can take a wild guess as to who the company is and they only lead in bad advice and cold calling.

Selling toasters and vacuum cleaners is no training for dealing with people's finances.

If you want to be a financial advisor find a company that will train you to be one, whilst you start studying for the relevant qualifications. (CeMAP is a mortgage qualification right? So not much to do with Financial Planning. We have a mortgage broker working with us and that's all he does because that's all he's qualified to do...).

Any company that will hire outside of the provision that you are an unqualified trainee who will be supervised whilst working doesn't sound like the kind of company you want to be working for...if you were in the UK or any other regulated market that is exactly what you would be expected to do by law.

I can only guess which "leading independent concern" has offered you a job.
