Thumbs down Re: Abu Dhabi move, Al Hosn gas and girlfriend

Getting mucked about something awful by this TSI Recruitment Group.
They now say they're holding interviews 11/12/13th April in London.

The money they are quoting @ £2800 per month is very poor for the Middle East, and after reading some of the experiences in this group I think I'll give them a miss.

I am currently working for Al Hosn, and believe me, TSI will tell you ANYTHING to get you here!

You're only on site for 3 nights! - 4
There is guaranteed overtime - I haven't had one shift yet (6 months)
Al Hosn pay your utility bills - no they don't
Al Hosn pay half your food bills - nope
You get 35 shifts holiday a year - er....nope
Blah blah blah....

It's all bullshit. The lifestyle is good, but don't believe the hype.

If anyone has been promised anything by Vish or TSI, please put it on here and we'll let you know what's true and what's not!

If anything it should be good for a laugh!!!

But seriously, it's a massive move for you and your families, so you should be coming here fully aware of what to expect!

Hey Smokey, yeah it doesn't surprise me at all. The firefighters have been messed about quite a bit since they came here with shift patterns and such; some are disgruntled, some love the lifestyle so just put up with it!
I would advise anyone seriously thinking of coming here to ignore everything TSI tell you and just message one of the lads on here for info.

Hey mate,

The leave is, quite frankly, impossible to work out! So I'll give you a few examples:

You take one shift off = 1 days leave
You take two consecutive shifts off = 2 days leave
You take the last shift of your 4, and the first shift of your next 4 (so 2 shifts) = 6 days leave
You take one cycle off (4 days) = 6 days leave
You take 2 cycles off (8 days) = 12 days leave.

Their argument is, you have to submit as many days leave that you are off - including days where you where off anyway!....apart from when you take 4?????????

That sounds ridiculous. Do you see them ever sorting it out or is like that to stay?
I bet people don't stick with them very long when they are going on like that.

That's actually pretty standard for all companies in the Gulf. Any weekends/off-shift days that fall during your leave are counted as leave days, so if you take 2 weeks off, you have to use up 14 leave days rather than just the 10 working days - the weekends in the middle and at the end are counted as well.

That's presumably partly why the annual leave entitlement is generally higher than in (say) the UK. It looks very generous until you realise the catch...
