Re: worried
This is one of if not the only good thing about troll posts. Sometimes they accidentally spark good debates from which good material originates.
Tony & Angela Originally posted by Leslie66 Kristine, Please take this as it is meant. Mardi is a troll and she/it has already been banned. :D:D Having said that........... You are absolutely right and I'm sure it feels good to get that off your chest. Your advice is excellent. You sticking around and sharing your story with the members of this NG is a positive thing that gives balance to our little immigration universe. The truth is, not all stories have happy endings. I was also glad to hear the positive news you posted on the other thread. Leslie |

Re: worried
Just one comment though... Turkey is not really an under-developed country as it may seem to some. It has great potential and people are basically happy living there.

Re: worried
I'm agreeing with Noortje about Turkey - I do not agree completely with Kristine - my fiance is muslim and from turkey and he is the most incredible man i have ever met - he would NEVER do anything in the world to hurt me - we have been together for 5 years and there is no way in hell he is the way you describe - turkey is a beautiful country and everyone i met was very happy there - mahir and i found our soulmate while going to college here in the united states - he didn't need me to get him out of the country - he could have gotten a job easily here - that's the difference between the bad men people are talking about and my man - he chose me above everything else - just because he is muslim doesn't make him different from someone coming from the united kingdom, canada, spain, etc. - someone using a spouse/fiance to get into the country could come from anywhere - but not MY fiance

I love Turkey as a country (although I don't know if I could live there forever) and most of my family lives there too. When they come on vacation to Belgium, they basically can't wait to go back to Turkey. I realize there are poor parts in Turkey, but in general, Turkey is a great country to live in with (thankfully) stabilizing economy, lots of potential and happy, friendly people. Although almost all Turkey is Muslim (as I am too), I don't think you can really compare Turkey with the Arab world. Anyway, this is my two cents. Hmm, even though I'm Turkish and Belgian, MY fiancé is American from Scottish, Irish, English, Italian and French descent (I can't wait to have a baby :D) and I love him to death of course. Take care! |
