Default Why all the RFEs at MSC?

I noticed that just today there were 3 RFEs (cdcib, Fonnzi, Observer1974),
by my count, at MSC.

Seems to me the MSC is employing a stall tactic (what are the odds that up
to now almost everyone in this group got approved and now 3 people in one
day sent in incomplete applications/had their applications "misplaced")!

Anyway, at least they are getting around to looking at the apps (and
congrats to xiomi) in mid-November, hopefully end-of-December will be
getting approved in a month or so!

Cheers,

Frank

xiomi is an unknown quantity at this point
Default Re: Why all the RFEs at MSC?

Thanks Frank.

I've heard INS gives priority to complete applications, complete based on a check list they have. If something is missing they leave them for last. So I am really glad I double, triple checked myself and also sent double copies of everything just in case they loose anything. I've heard RFE's are sometimes requested data that the petitioner has already sent however INS somehow looses some of the documents included in the packets we send.

So.........in conclusion, sending double copies of EVERYTHING........using paperclips and referencing each page with your SS# is a must.

In fact, Plugging in numbers close to our own, I counted at least 6 K3 RFEs
since last Friday.

Really, who else was there?

And what numbers?

On the bright side, xiomi was approved in less than 100 days!

On the dark side, wisdom over wealth has not been approved for about 200
days!

Gotta love the INS, they are nothing if not [in]consistent!

I'm wondering how many inspectors (adjucators? I forget what they're
called) there are working this type of visa. It's strange that in a matter
of a week, we've seen approvals ranging from Oct 24 to Nov 13. And November
was supposed to be a "heavy" month of application receipts, right?

Makes me wonder if there's one person who's approving quickly, and another
is trying to catch up by giving out RFE's. Oh, and there's another one who
is just late and doesn't care that (s)he is late (I seem to have been
assigned this one, for better or for worse).

Nick

Wow, did you just plug in random numbers to get those (they all have 1st
NOA's of 31 October, btw)?

Do a google search for "MSC-02" "embassy" and click on the first link and
you'll get some more!

I am becoming a little suspicious that the MSC has adopted a slightly less
nefarious version of the recently discovered CSC way of "processing"
applications - namely, instead of shredding them (which leads to nasty
indictments) they just request more evidence, and more evidence, and more
evidence....

Anyone have an MSC contact (real live person) to inquire to about this?

I saw some INS complaint contacts posted.

Random? More like brute force than random (why not? I'm alone at night w/o
my wife)

As for the date, Your partly right, They are on the same day but it isn't
Oct'31st. The "031" number refers to the work day count (with zero being the
start of the fiscal year for INS). In fact the NOAs you looked at had a
receipt date of Nov.1st.
Anyway I just hope I get the damn RFE letter by Friday...

Check this out, just typed in a # close to mine (I'm a 31/12/02 1st NOA)
MSC0309060060 and this chap got approved!

Bear in mind that the NOA #s are broken down as such: MSC (service center)
03 (fiscal year) 090 (90 days since start of fiscal year which is October 1)
60060 (individual petition #).

Therefore, this bloke had a 1st NOA in late December, 2002 and already is
approved!

Somebody correct me if this is wrong in any way, please!

I don't have a clue (other than that it might be a hardship case that got
fast-tracked).

All the other cases around mine (from endings in 00-99) were not approved.

More proof that the term "INS" and words "procedural fairness" are mutually
exclusive me thinks!

Im not sure if its even worth trying to figure it out. I checked on numbers around the same as ours & also found numbers after ours have been approved too so am left thinking ( hoping & praying) that this is nothing to worry about. Life is hard enough being seperated from my darling husband without worrying about things we are too unsure of. Keep on taking things one day at a time & pray that our time will come soon.
Cheers

Don't know whats going on with RFE's but my application had ample
evidence and was triple checked etc., Who knows why they are issuing
RFE's on late October cases and early November cases. It would make
their numbers look good since they are processing later cases now.
Very frustrating since in the 21st century we have email, fax,
telephone etc., as a means of requesting information. We could easily
turn around and get their requested info in hours while the
application is still on their desk. However they prefer an old method
of snail mail with time consuming procedures. Even a simple telephone
call to the petitioner could clear up anything. Why ask why, heh?
Hopefully they will improve one of these days.
