Default what to do???

This is my situation: i got married two months a go, and started to
fill in all the forms for my wife's green card (she is from France).

The problem is that i do not reach the poverty line for the passed
year (i'm a missionary) and since my family broke any relationship
with me, i don't really know how to solve this problem.

I've asked to a friend, but since they don't know my wife, they
refused to be a co-sponsor.

What can i do?
Thanks to all,
Robert

Ask the head of your church to provide you with the affidavit of support for your wife. Or quit the missionary life for the time being and get a job that will enable you to fill the financial requirements. Or as Ray said, move to France. They love Americans over there and have a very easy immigration system. Or move your wife with you to whatever improvished country you are preaching in so that you can start your married life together. God Bless.

There is no way around the I-864. You can get another job to supplement your current income, bringing you up to the level of income you need. Or, you can still try to find a joint sponsor, someone in your church perhaps. Anyone living in the USA who is a USC or PR who meets the income requirements can be a sponsor. Or, you can move to France.

Best Wishes,
Rene

I have two jobs now, and for this year i will meet the poverty layer:
will it work?
Besides, she has also her own company in France;

On this base, will it be enough?
THanks a lot!!!

Supposedly they look at your *current* income, so if in 2007 you are meeting the required income, you *should* be OK. Of course this is at the discretion of the officer at your wife's interview. Also, some consulates require 3 years of tax returns, not just the most recent one.

Might be a good idea to have a joint sponsor lined up, just in case the officer requires one.

Her employment in France will not help the case.

Best Wishes,
Rene
