Default Waiting on London - Is this normal? Any suggestions for enquiries?

Howdy all (Texan accent showing up in here)

Well, registered post confirmed the Embassy in London rec'd Packet 3 from wife including checklist...receipt confirmation on 15 October. (K3 visa btw)

We've both e-mailed with inquires (she has London case #) but nothing returned to either of us recently. We panicked at first as the only reply I've had is "paperwork not received yet", but we've calmed down now from everyone's replies that this is probably normal until it's "entered" into the system.

Suggestions anyone?

1) Continue sending e-mail inquiries? (will this *&^% them off?) And if so, how much is too much? lol
2) Send letter? (hear they don't respond to post inquiries)
3) Send fax? (found fax number buried in another website)
4) Sit back and wait?

Maybe we're just too anxious...who knows. If anyone knows average time to get one of these scheduled, please respond here as well.

Thanks to all...

I think there is a few of us waiting on Londons response to our packet 3's, but mine is for a 130, i dont know how long it takes, and they just told me to email them weekly, its too expensive to call them everyweek, but im sure we will all be home for christmas (i hope), we really cant do nothing else but wait, but just keep emailing them and im sure packet 4 will soon arrive on your doorstep, good luck to you

Hi,
I think you can drive them mad by sending to many emails and faxes, although I'm sure it doesn't affect processing times
eg: they get so fed up they stick you at the bottom of the pile.

I did exactly that (pestered them constantly) and initially they replied quite quickly, and then it became slower and eventually they didn't even reply at all.
Now that you have a case number it should move quite quickly.
Don't worry, you're not too anxious, it's perfectly normal, virtually everyone on here is (or has been) in the same boat, and I know it's not fair, but London is just about as quick as it gets, and your timeline seems about normal.

Good luck

Sent my Pkt 3 for I129F on 7th Oct ..
Emailed the London Embassy on 20 enquiring if they had received.. They
replied 21st Oct that they hadnt received and to email 1 week later.. They
did mention a few weeks backlog.

Emailed them on the 28th asking if they had put me on the computer..
They replied on the 29th, yes.. and that I have a provisional number.

Hi,

Unless your situation changes leave them to it, as my mate Roger said London are the quickest embassy as it is and they will try and give you a date well before your proposed date of travel. It will take at least 3 weeks to get you on the computer so just relax and sit back and wait for the interview date to come. As they are quick any way I don't see the point of hassling them, go out and buy a cat to kick if you are frustrated!

Good Luck

Patrick

Hi All,

after rereading this thread I realise I was completly wrong to suggest you kick a cat to get rid of your frustration caused by the wait (which is short in comparison to other embassies). You live in Texas so what I should have suggested was that you get one of your many guns and go shoot something whilst shouting ye ha!

Howdy and thanks everyone for your feedback...I feel a bit better now

Think I'll/we'll just leave it with them as recommended. The last thing I want is to end up on the bottom of a pile (and the application to end up there as well...lmao)

I sure don't want to sound selfish in that it's just us waiting 'cause (accent again, hehehe) I sure know that's not the case at all. I wish everyone the quickest processing times to be with their loved ones, no doubt about it

Patrick...we've got a lot of stray cats here in Texas but I couldn't kick one...lol. To ease my frustrations, I'll just hop on my horse, get out a pistol or two and go blasting up the cactus on the ranch...

Roger...I agree completely and no more e-mails...thanks.

Mrs. S...god, you've been through so much and I hope and pray you get your situation sorted out soon!!!

Pete...I hear the number is everything...you're in the system now and it's just around the corner

Disclaimer - No horses, cats, dogs, armadillos or other wildlife were harmed during or shortly after this message post, although multiple cactus (oh sorry, the plural is cactii) were severely damaged beyond recognition...

When I was going through the K1 procedure at London I was told that it
takes approximately 3 weeks from receipt of the packet 3 before the
information appears on the computer. I would suggest you email them
again sometime next week once the 3 weeks is up.
