The Wait After The AOS Interview ???????
Ok Guys and Gals if any of you are still out there that have had you
interviews and had to wait for your security checks to be done, I have only
heard of one that has gotten their approval letter so far and is it. Are
there any others out there, on one of the other boards someone dealing with
Atlanta was told it will take 2 to 5 years to get the letter for AOS
approval??
Thanks, Michael Perez

Me and my wife had our K-1 AOS interview in Seattle on 11-23-02 and we are still waiting. We checked with the Seattle INS office about 6 weeks ago. And was told that the name check is not back.

AOS Interview
My wife and I had our AOS interview back on December 4th last year in the Las Vegas INS office. We haven't heard a thing since.. not a whisper.
What makes things worse is that we hired an Attorney to get us through this process, and since the AOS interview he seems to be unwilling to help us further. He is very reluctant to return our calls, breaks promises and is generally very unhelpful. I guess that now he has our $2,000 in his pocket that's all that matters to him. He doesn't even know what the interviewing officers's name is!!
I've tried calling the National Service Center with our A number, and even they can't inform us of our case status. We can't find a local number for Las Vegas INS.. so we are at a loss as to what to do next.
Nobby.

Re: The Wait After The AOS Interview ???????
well, we had our AOS interview in April 2002, in Charleston, SC, a sub
office of Atlanta, I believe, and recently, I had to renew my EAD
card(for the third time, I might add), so we asked since we were
there, what had become of the AOS interview results, and an update,
the gentleman at the counter looked up the case on the computer, said
it was still "pending", and then went back to look for our file. It
was still on the shelf back in the office....gathering dust, I guess
like the others.....anyway, he showed it to us...at least it wasn't
lost....so....that's all I can say right now.

Wyman,
I had my AOS interview in Charleston SC in Feb 2002. I went up there the last week of March and said it had been over a year since we had heard anything. The guy at the desk said that he couldn't do anything because his supervisor wasn't there and asked if I had written a letter. I showed him the letter I had sent and told him I hadn't gotten a reply.
We went back later that week when he told us his supervisor might be in. They were in the back for 40 mins going over our file before he finally came out and told us we were approved. Ours was an AOS stemming from the K1 visa- I don't know if that's why he made an effort to see what was going on with ours and told you yours was pending. He was pretty helpful compared to the other lady....
The reason we didn't get a stamp at the interview was because they had our original file still in Atlanta instead of Charleston. Not because they had to do a name check....
