VWP changing status
Arriving in US on a VWP then changing status after marrying US citizen, how long does one have to fill out the forms and send to immigration?

Re: VWP changing status
You know this is not a legal way of immigrating, right?

What happened after your post in 2011? You were already in the USA after a 3-year overstay back then.

Re: VWP changing status
Interesting that according to the thread you linked, Rene, the OP came in 2008 and had overstayed his VWP by 3 years, but according to this post, the OP came in 2013 and was looking to adjust status after 3 weeks on VWP - http://britishexpats.com/forum/us-im...ad-ssn-799103/
Now, according to this post, he is just now thinking about adjusting status after getting married on VWP. I fear we may have entered a timewarp and his posts are appearing in reverse chronological order at 3 year intervals. |

Can you explain the discrepancy between your other 2 posts linked in this thread? Rene |

Incorrect. It is, however, illegal to enter the US on VWP with the intention of remaining in the US and adjusting status.

Therefore you are saying Noorah101 is incorrect?

It is illegal to be outside the USA and have the intent to do so, yes. Plenty of existing threads on this topic.

Re: VWP changing status
Maybe if you explained your situation you would get the help you're seeking.
As it stands, without information to the contrary, you appear to be trolling. |

Okay you didn't say that and neither the original post said that.

Re: VWP changing status
Depends on numerous things and given the lack of information provided, it's impossible to provide an answer. I'd recommend speaking to an immigration attorney asap.
