Looking forward to this as my husband's is July 14 (and my 29th birthday is the 15th, what a lovely gift a visa for him would be! lol)

I took the copy with the approved stamp on it that they returned to me, and just a regular every day photo copy, as online it says to bring two of everything. I didn't bring all the evidence that the i-129f required, JUST the form itself and a photocopy (:

They didn't even ask me to see this though, just as a heads up, but take it incase, better to have something and have them not ask for it, than have them ask for something you don't have!

All the best of luck, you got this!

I assume you just need a copy of the USC's Birth Certificate and not the original?

You need proof that the fiancé(e) is a US citizen - so that means a birth certificate, a US passport, or a Certificate of Naturalization. No originals required... copies will do in each case.

iJoey - you mentioned you brought evidence of a continuing relationship. Did the consular officer look through those?

I brought evidence too, just in case, and they weren't interested/didn't ask to see it. They ask for the specific documents outlined in the checklist they have on their website, and aren't interested in anything else IF it's straight-forward and there's nothing sketchy about your relationship.

So glad I came across this thread. My fiance has his citizenship interview scheduled in the next 10 days. Hopefully, as soon as he gets his citizenship, he will apply for my K-1 visa.

iJoey, the doc list you shared in post # 1 is quite extensive and will surely help me in gathering my docs once my K-1 visa process kick-starts. I have bookmarked this thread and will keep coming back for updates

This blog is such a saviour, i swear

I have my interview this week, and I'm pretty sure I have all the required paperwork but I wanted to run it past you guys to make sure I wasn't gonna lose any sleep over it

-Passport
-Birth Certificate and copy
-Interview appointment letter and copy
-2 x Coloured US size passport photos
-MRV confirmation fee and instruction page and copy
-i-134 affidavit, and copy, as well as USC birth certificate, Bank statement, Tax returns and copies.
-2 x Police certificates
-Approved i-129f and copy
-DS 160 confirmation page and copy
-US embassy received petition letter and copy
-i-797 approval notice

And finally continued relationship evidence including photos, copy of his passport page with his stamp that admitted him to England, plane tickets of shared holidays together, phone bill.

Is that everything? And I have I got anything that I don't need to take? Any supportive advice is welcome! Thanks again everyone, here's hoping it all goes smoothly! Nervous is an understatement!
Thank you for this list. I wasn't aware I had to have my US fiancé birth certificate for my impending upcoming interview. Aswell as 2 police certificates. I have only my birth certificate and my Police Certificate that's it. For my K1. Do I have to have both of these for my US Fiance?
I have everything else ready plus the I-134 & I-864 (although not sure if need the latter) plus, can I ask how you got a signature from your fiancé onto the I-134? My USC scanned all of the the papers with his signature and then emailed it onto myself and then I just printed them off and filed away ready for my interview. Now I am worried that perhaps he needs to fill it all out again, the I-134 and send off hard copy. Hope this isn't the case as, you can clearly see his signature on the form even though it isn't an original.

Sorry for the extensive questions and concerns. Since reading this it had made more anxious to get everything in order!!

It is suggested that you bring originals of any photocopies that were previously sent (such as USC's birth certificate), but in reality I've not really seen the ConOff ask to see these, so don't worry about it.

Aswell as 2 police certificates. I have only my birth certificate and my Police Certificate that's it. For my K1. Do I have to have both of these for my US Fiance?
To my knowledge, you only need 1 police certificate for the interview. That would be yours. The USC does not need to provide any kind of police certificate or record, at the time of the interview.

I have everything else ready plus the I-134 & I-864 (although not sure if need the latter)
You only need the I-134. The I-864 comes later, when you're doing AOS in the USA.

plus, can I ask how you got a signature from your fiancé onto the I-134?
The USC signs the I-134 using a pen, and then sends that original to you, either via US mail or some kind of express delivery (Fed Ex, UPS, etc).

My USC scanned all of the the papers with his signature and then emailed it onto myself and then I just printed them off and filed away ready for my interview. Now I am worried that perhaps he needs to fill it all out again, the I-134 and send off hard copy. Supposedly the I-134 needs to be an original, with an original signature. You can certainly try using the scanned one, if you don't have time to get the original to you....just be aware that the ConOff has the right to ask for the original.

Thank you Renae. I am going to have to ask him to do that form again, sign & send over via post. I am assuming he doest need to notarise it?
At least he doesnt need to provide HIS birth certificate & police certificate. 2 less things to worry about.
Thank you!

The I-134 does not need to be notarized. Although it might not ask for it, he should go ahead and include proof of his US citizenship (a photocopy of his birth certificate or US passport). He also needs to provide a copy of at least his most current tax return, and possibly the most recent 3 years (sometimes the ConOff asks for that). Not a bad idea to go ahead and include proof of current income as well, in the form of a few current paystubs and/or letter from his employer on letterhead. There should be details on the I-134 instructions at Homepage | USCIS.

Noted. I shall relay this onto him. Thank you!! Apart from that. Everything is ready for the interview. I had my medical on Friday, in which told by the DR all went well apart from still awaiting results for blood test and xray, although no news by next week Friday, is Good news. I shall put a post up about my experience, but not until this Friday has been and gone that way I know for sure, that the blood results and xray were good.
Thanks again Rene.
