Default URGENT HELP/in Juarez Consulate appt. Tuesday / failed medical

Your advise is greated appreciated. My husband as a K3 Visa consulate appt. on Tuesday and tested positive for marijuana on the medical exam. Any advise on what to do. I know, you don't even have to say it, it was very stupid of him to do this. The Physician said that it could be possible that he could get the visa anyway and be able to attend a rehab in the U.S. and the communicate with the consulate on his progress. Should he attend the appt. on Tuesday, or just leave and come back in 2 months and re-do the Medical Exam. One last thing to note, was that they did not give him the imfamous black envelope. The Medical has changed and the Medical results are not given directly to the Consulate. Thanks for any advise anyone can give me.

I was under the impression that they did not conduct any drug test. For example, my husband, also a K3'er received form DS-2053 for the medical. No mention of any drug test. I' ve read that they do ask about addictions or abuse of drugs, but not an actual test.

Maybe someone on the forum has had a similar experience and can help you.

Maybe rescheduling the interview appointment. How long ago has it been since he's been clean? I've also read that the exams performed might also be to the discretion of the doctor. Maybe wait a while and see a different doc. Other than that, dont know what else to tell you.

Good luck,..

You're probably not looking for marital advice ey? But, consider this. Here's
a guy waiting to get into the US. He *knows* he has to be clean and he goes
ahead and tokes up anyway?

That's totally insane. Since it's up to the examining doctor to
determine what is appropriate testing, the applicant must have gone to
the exam with bloodshot eyes, supicious odor, wearing is favorite
NORML shirt, and other rather obvious emblems.

You will spend more time, money, and heartache than it's worth. His
drug useage has seriously impaired his judgement. You are looking at
a lifetime of problems.

I agree. What kind of idiot smokes pot before an immigration medical
exam?

I say smoke a bud before the interview - hell offer some to those lazy
bureaucrats, maybe it'll make 'em work harder (coke that is, not herbs)!

I was never drug tested, at least I was never told and if
that was the case they should. Wouldn't be a problem for me
personnally if they did though.
I cannot understand all the raging here on this subject. I
am Dutch and I do not know anyone in liberated Holland who
uses pot, here in America I hardly know anyone who does not.
The forbidden fruit I guess. Lets just name it hypocrisy.

I do not think your husband is eager to go for an American
rehab. If he has the possibility let him take another exam.
The envelope is Brown by the way, and I do not understand
your last statement about the Consulate not having it.

I don't know a thing about the medicals....but do they do bloodwork or urine tests? Pot stays in your system for up to 6 weeks so cut the guy a little slack here ok?
