Default Update from Cait & Sean

Hello, everyone!

Sent our response to RFE yesterday to Nebraska. Any ideas how long it
might take for them to acknowledge receipt of it? Also, how long it
might take to get an approval or otherwise?

Hey there Cait

Getting a RFE means that your case has been picked up from the shelf and it has been assigned to an USCIS officer, which is great . From what I have heard in this NG takes 3 weeks to a month to get either an approval or another RFE (If you didn't submit all the info they requested).
Good Luck and keep us posted!

The RFE was because they did not accept my UK divorce decree Absolute.
I then got myself an attorney and he says the decree was fine, so he
is sending another one with an explanatory letter saying the decree is
the right one. Fingers crossed ...

By the way, we got the RFE on October 8 but did not send the response
until this weekend past because we didn't know how to respond until we
found the attorney.

My fiance and my petition was approved by NSC just 4 weekdays after they recieved my response to the RFE in the mail. Usually you'll know the outcome of your case within a week of the NSC recieving your response to the RFE. Although you must give it an extra day or two to be actually recieved in the mail hehe.

Hello again

Sean sent the response to RFE to Nebraska on Saturday by giving it to
the mailman (you can do that in America - wow!) and I wondered how
long it would take for the NSC's acknowledgement to show up on the
website. I am checking it every day but so far .. nothing.

Can anyone enlighten me? I am getting worried that we should have sent
it by FedEx.

Best wishes

Cait
