Default Travelling While I-751 Is Pending

Hello, I wonder if someone has experience in this matter please?
2 questions:

I am currently travelling abroad and have a conditional I-551(green
card).
My I-751 - application to remove the conditional status is due on Dec
15 2005. I will of course make the application before this date. I will
file from abroad which is OK. I would like to then travel after I return
for 2 weeks during the christmas period. And I know that I can do this
once I have the letter confirming receipt and extension of the expired
card. But what is the time frame on these procedures.

q1. After the application is received how long does it take for the
letter to be issued confirming the extension of the expired green
card?

q2. If an interview is required, how long after the application is
received will I know?

thanks so much to all,

peace :)

Q1. How long does it take for the letter confirm

Justglobal,
The acceptance letter/NOA typically arrives within 2 weeks, usually less. You should carry a copy of the letter with your expired Green Card.

The I-751 can be approved with/without interview any time between 3-18 months, depending on your Service Center.

Ours was just approved out of Nebraska 9 months after filing.
