Default Tooth Fairy

Anyone know what the going rate is for a tooth these days? My DS is about to lose his first and is really excited. He has big expectations of what the tooth fairy is going to leave him - I don't want to disappoint the little guy but don't want to go OTT either......!

Sounds like a bargain!

I'm also looking for ways to make the experience memorable for him, any fun ideas, anyone?

Go to the bank and get some nice new shiny dollar coins. Put them in a cupboard and use them as payment from the tooth fairy.

Magical golden coins.

Don't leave $, instead leave a fortune cookie from the Chinese take out place. But just leave the slip of paper with the fortune on it. Eat the cookie yourself.

He'll remember that.

In my house it used to be $2 per tooth. That was until my daughter lost a tooth whilst staying at a friends house, and they gave her $5 for it
Suddenly, and ever since, that's been the going rate.

Maybe it's regional. The fairy here left five dollars a couple of weeks ago when my son's came out.
He has swallowed the last three. Including the big ones at the front.

Didn't he get anything for the swallowed ones?
