Timeline so far - I485 Approved
2002 - May
Applied to I-485
2003 - May
Missed my fingerprint appointment (Didn't get the letter)
2004 - Sep
Got another request to be fingerprinted.
2004 - Nov
Told that my I-485 was approved!
I've had no interviews, and I'm on my 3rd EAD card now.
So, what happens next, I called them to find out why I haven't received
written notice yet(been 3 weeks), but the phone system now says I should
wait a month before enquiring about that.
Should I sit back and relax now, is it finally all over?
p.s. thanks to all those that have helped me in the past on this newsgroup,
don't know what I would have done without the information.

Pretty much, yes. I agree with the phone system, wait for a little
longer. Do you know why the first FP notice didn't arrive? Was there
some inaccuracy in the address? Something unreliable in your mail
delivery, did you also not get letters from other people that you
expected? Did you move? If you did, it may be worth calling the customer
service line right now and confirm that they sent the approval to the
correct address.

I've had to move numerous times since I first sent in my application. If it
wasn't for the online status system, I may never have even noticed that they
had sent me a fingerprint request in the first place. This time, they sent
my fingerprint notice to the correct address(where I am now), so I was
hoping that they'd send the I-485 approval to the same address. I've never
had a problem receiving mail from anyone else. I've waited for 2 1/2 years,
I can wait another week I suppose.

Re: Timeline so far - I485 Approved
Your timeline is pretty much consistent with the service center
processing dates shown on the uscis page. Nebraska processes AOS
applications from May 2002. Long wait ahead for me, I applied in March
2004.
People look at me in disbelief sometimes when I tell them I've been
waiting to get a green card for the last three years and I'll probably
wait for another two. Oh well, what's another two years?

In that case, it is probably a good idea to call the customer service
center immediately to confirm that they used the correct address. Also -
for you it's too late, but others who may see this on Google may benefit
- if you anticipate moving, it may be a good idea to get a mailbox and
specify that address. Or, some people use their lawyer's address to
receive all notices.
