I've posted messages to this group over the past couple of years and
followed the advice. Now, after 4 1/2 years, we were finally approved
for our greencard. We applied in Oct. of 98 had our interview in Aug
of 2001. Out lawyer lost our paperwork and the officer was unable to
make a decision. One year later, my mother-in-law fell seriously ill
and we obtained and advance parole to visit her. When we returned
after one week, we were told that my wife was now here unlawfully. Our
lawyer quit and left us on our own. We obtained a another lawyer who
explained that the INS is in error, my wife was never here unlawfully,
and the officer ruled against us in spite of the fact that we showed
her our advance parole, notarized medical report, interview notice,
etc... Finally, we enlisted the help of our congerssman who pushed our
application through after only one month. We are still in shock and
don't really believe that it's real. I have only one question now, we
were told to go to the L.A. office, the San Bernardino office, or the
Santa Ana office to have her passport stamped. We wanted to go to San
Bernardino but we are not too sure what time to be there. The line in
L.A. starts around 4 or 5 in the morning. Are the other offices as
bad. Thanks again.

What a nightmare it must have been for you this whole century - A tramautising experience which nobody should go through in the future. Files lost, attorney washing hands, wife's mother illness, unlawful presence even after AP.....so many to handle....but hey thanks to your Congressman.
After the stormy weather, there is a RAINBOW showing its head for you. Congratulations on your Green card success. Please register with this forum and continue to stay in touch to help out others.
Best wishes.
