Hello,
Submitted the I-130 petition on the 14th, received the Notice of Approval on the 19th
stating the visa petition I filed has been approved. And that the Embassy would
contact the beneficiary about obtaining a Visa.
Can anyone tell me if they know how long this next step takes? Also I thought the
I-130 petition took some time, according to the NOA they approved it the next day?
Thank you in advance. Mark

Are you sure that this is an approval notice, or is it a notice of action
(receipt)? Alvena

If you did not ever get a notice of receipt and only received this notice of
approval, then I frankly think that someone has made a big mistake and sent you the
wrong form. I know that is not what you wanted to hear. It would be literally unheard
of for a petition to be approved for I-130 this quickly, probably a record for the
lifetime of the INS, in fact.
However, there is always a slight chance that I am wrong and that it was approved.
If it was me, however, i would call the service center and have someone check the
computer just to be on the safe side before I got my hopes up. Presuming that it was
an approval notice, you still have to wait for the petition to get to the national
visa center where it will languish for a month or two and then they will send you an
affidavit of support packet, which you send back and wait another couple of months
and then then forward it on to Thailand.
of course, it may happen more quickly than that, since you seem to be blessed
with luck.
