Default Is it technically EAD renewal or not?

My EAD expires in March 2005, and I'm not certain to have an interview by that time. I'm planning on applying for a new EAD. My current EAD is based on my K3 status (which expires March 2005), but my new EAD will be based on AOS. On the first part of the form, do I check off "renewal of EAD" or "permission to accept employment"? I don't want to check off the wrong box and get an RFE.
Any thoughts would be very much appreciated!

Hi:

You are going to disclose the prior EAD in any case in the body of the I-765, so its harmless. I don't think it matters. FWIW, I check "renewal". The ONLY time it really makes a difference in the asylum arena -- asylum applicants get the first application for free.
