Hi
First of all I'd like to congratulate you guys for the excellent job you're doing providing all the vital informations to people like us who are unversed in immigration matters.
I am an F1 student. I came here legally and have been attending school ever since. Now my sponsor has decided not to pay for my school fees anymore. I was therefore dropped from classes and told that there is nothing that the school can do for me until I pay for my tuition. I've attended classes up to this moment.
What are my options now? I come from a country torn by civil war. Going back home can be equated with suicide. And even if I wanted to, I simply do not possess the means to make the journey.
I love this country and I love its people. I've always abided by laws and regulations and it's needless to say that I'm completely disheartened when I contemplate the prospect of leaving a place where I have found peace of mind.
I thank you.

It sounds like you need to apply for asylum. Good luck.

And for that you'll need the help of an attorney. There are
compassionate groups that deal with asylees and provide them legal
assistance.

Which country is that? If what you say is true, you should apply for
political asylum.

You should meet with your international student adviser, I suggest the most
experienced adviser in the office. You may be able to get off-campus work
permission based on economic necessity resulting from an unexpected change
in circumstances. Also, you may be able to get grants and loans. Try to
get the school to work with you. Maybe something can be done.
