still waiting on Interview date
Hello Folks !
Well.... here I am waiting patiently for our interview date from London. I
did call them and was told that they had not as yet updated their system
from Xmas break but should hear soon of a date and pack 3
I have e-mailed them today requesting a date because Herb would like to be
able to confirm his flight to UK atleast a week or so ahead of time so
fingers crossed we shall hear this week or next
I would dearly love to fly back on the same flight as Herb so we are
thinking on just taking a risk and booking return flights for my son and
myself the same time Herb books his flights to come to UK. I have seen
people taking this risk before they get Visa in hand.
I know he is planning on flying to Newark, NJ, so on return that would be
our POE. I wonder how other people found Newark when entering on K1 ????
I am not concerned about it but it would be good to get some feed back on
their experiences
Good Luck to all that have interviews in the near future and Congratulations
to those that have their Visa

Re: still waiting on Interview date
I wouldn't book your ticket yet. For my K-1 visa it says on the net to expect your interview within 4 to 6 weeks after they've processed the application. That leaves a big question i.e. how long does it take them to process the app?!
One person told me to allow 8 to 12 weeks after your forms went in, another said it takes 3 months.

London is usually pretty efficient with visa applications, but Xmas has certainly slowed them down. Give them a few and I'm sure they will respond to your email.
As far as booking the flight, don't even do it.
When we had our visa interview date Sandy (my S.O. booked a return flight for herself and we talked to the flight operator about adding me if it became viable. They said they are used to visa applicants doing this and just call them back when we have visa in hand and they will try and accomodate.
Not sure if that helps at all, but patience is needed for one last time Michelle

Re: still waiting on Interview date
Today I got a response to my e-mails from London. They said they have sent
out my pack and that once I send the info back they will do what they can
to accomodate me obviously no guarantee's on the specific date I request but
atleast I know the pack is on its way to my new address
I will get in touch with the airline company as soon as I know which one my
fiancé is using and do as you suggest .....hope they can get me and my son
on the same flight back as my Fiancé cause he is going attend the interview
in London with me
Great Excitement
Thanks for the info

Re: still waiting on Interview date
Dear Michelle
Good luck with getting a date soon!
As far as booking a flight before you get your visa, I personally
wouldn't do that, but it's only because so much has gone wrong for us
during this process, what with the RFE followed by NSC claiming not to
have received our RFE response. You will most likely be fine.
I am going to book mine to Minnesota as soon as I have the actual visa
in my hand.

File arrived at NVC 7 Jan

Re: still waiting on Interview date
Michelle, I followed your progress closely and I am sooooo happy to
see you are getting closer to being with your loved one. I am waiting
patiently for this nightmare to be over. We are a K3 that waited in
Nebraska hell for 7 months trying to get our papers transferred to the
correct place (MSC) We are on day 63 of a 60-90 day wait. I am
getting nervous now, every day praying there is an approval and not
another complication. Again, I am happy to see your post as I was just
thinking of you yesterday wondering your progress. Good luck and keep
posting....you give me hope that there is light at the end of this
long tunnel.
