Default Still waiting for First NOA

Dear Friends,
My fiancee sent in her I 129F to CSC on 7th of March 2003 with all the necessary documents including the cheque for the amount of 110 dollars.

She received a delivery receipt confirming the delivery of the mail to BCIS office in Laguna Nigeul on the 14th of March. But as of 2nd April, she has nt received her first NOA. The cheque has not been cashed yet. We are worried now !!!

Any idea as to why there is so much delay ? Is it possible that our application might have been returned/rejected?

Thanks .

Of all the service centers, I've read that CSC happens to run a little slower. I would give it another week or so before panicing.

VSC in contrast usually goes from getting petitions of I-129F to approval within a matter of 3 weeks.

Keep faith and just wait a little longer..

Regards

Anything is possible. BCIS not cashing the check for 2 weeks might cause me some concern, I admit, but I'm the paranoid sort =) Cashing the check seems to be the very first thing BCIS does if the application facially appears correct (i.e. right amount, type of petition they normally process) to the mail room people. Even if it takes 6 months to handle the petition on the merits (it goes on the infamous "shelf" until it is assigned out). I know that CSC cashed my check within 48 hours of my mailing my papers in, even though it was nearly a week before I had my first NOA.

Cashing of the check doesn't necessairly indicate that the forms look good and everything is acceptable, as the fee is nonrefundable. So they might cash the check and THEN find some problems and return everything..

Though, I hope that isn't how it works.

I have seen people receiving first NOAs for applications as late as March 28th from CSC. I am not sure why they are delaying our case so long. God, I cannot think of any reason for rejecting our application. Everything was in perfect shape and order.

Anyone from CSC still waiting for first NOA?

My fiancee just got off the phone with a lady at CSC. She confirmed that they have received the application on the 15th of March 2003 but apparently lost the application somewhere. They are SEARCHING for the applicaiton and they are saying, very proudly, that ours is not the only application that has been lost.

How heartbreaking is this news?

This is the kind of news that people buy and use indiscriminately AK-47s in some parts of the country.

I hope BCIS sorts it very very soon (and that you kept a copy of your papers!). And gives you the unconditional, groveling written apology (complete with expedited processing!) to make up for the needless stress that their incompetence has caused you and your fiance!

It took them longer than a month to look at mine.

I don't know about BCIS.
I dealt with FCC before with similar policy.
They returned the package and take your money. No question is asked.
