Default Spring Chicken - Marriage visa posts .

Hi Everyone,

I wonder if you can share your knowledge with me? Our story is that, in my late 60's I have actually found the love of my life and we are planning to get married at the end of this year in the US. My wife to be is a US citizen.

Thanks everyone.

Admin Note: I have snipped out some of this post so those that wish to help re visa can do that.

So wife to be is not currently in FL? Cannot fault the gulf coast, but still a big area, Guessing you are thinking my area - Tampa Bay. Sarasota/Venice have an "older vibe". (I am in 50s!)

I assume you have the visa situation sorted out?

Hi Rich, wife to be lives in the North of the States, but yes, we are thinking of that sort of area. No visa or anything sorted as yet, we really are in the beginning of going down this line and just trying to find things out. It's a journey of discovery! :-)

Default What type of posts go where . ( moved from Florida thread)

OK I know a bit about visas so I will suggest you want a K1 fiance visa, like I did. You can get that under way now, in anticipation of marrying at the end of this year. It does not sound like you will want to work, which can be a deciding factor. Wife to be has to initiate the process, as your sponsor.

The other option is CR1 which you can only apply for after the marriage.

Still think CR1 is the way to go.
