Alexandrite

I live in the US and my fiance lives in the UK. We have gone over the differences between the fiance and spouse visas and from everything we have read so far, we like the sound of the spouse visa better because it comes with the green card and there are no restrictions on travel after it is issued.

We would like to get married in the UK perhaps this June and seeing as we hadn't planned on being together for good until August of 2004 we are hoping this would be enough time for the spouse visa to come through without having to file additional papers to bring him over while we are waiting for it.

Has anyone on this site been through the spouse visa procedure that can tell me, what was the timeline like?
