got my permanent resident alien status today.

applied for aos feb 15 2002 (from k1 entry and subsequent marriage)

interview: mon jun 10 2002

letter confirming successful aos: today, thu 13 jun 2002

total time from aos application to successful aos: under 4 months

me: a bit stunned

Thank you Zara and good luck with your own process.

Actually a strange thing happened. We weren't given the approval at the interview
because the official was unhappy with our affidavit of support and wanted a
co-sponsor. Also we didn't have our petition approval and she wanted that.

But then she changed her mind and sent us the letter of approval a couple of days
later. Very strange but we're not complaining.

I promise I will, Rete, and thank you and everyone else who contributes to these
sites and lists. We couldn't have got this far without the help of everyone here. Or
a lawyer. I prefer you lot.
