Interested in meeting a Russian girl but skeptical of the services and these
'tours' from what I read here there are alot of scams. Any ideas?

I advise against tours (assuming you are wanting serious long-term or
life-long marriage). How can you really get to know someone in 4 or 5
days? And many of these girls that go to these tours are what I call
'tour groupies'. My advice is to check out a website called
www.brides.ru. For $50/month you get all phone numbers, addresses, and
emails. Also, you might want to think about Ukraine woman because 1. I
like them better and you might too, and 2. You can get a visa in about
half the time as from Russia right now.

What age/type woman are you looking for? My fiance has a friend In
Dnepropetrovsk who is a very nice person.

Thanks for the response... I am in Canada (Toronto) and looking for a women
under 25. Ukraine sounds good.

I saw your post and decided to add some words about it too. Actually I am
first time here... so it is like a test fro me.
I am agree with Steve about tours. They are not effective and it is really
difficult to meet true person there. The best way is to find a girl on free
Website (for instance www.MatchDoctor.com.... but be careful there, because
there are lots of scams) or on site of marriage agencies (you need to be
careful here too, because there are lots of scams too and as I know from my
life workers of agencies offer you girls whom they know good and you have a
lack of information about others). I can recomend you one. It is good for
sure and it has enough information about Ukrainian girls. Moreover I have
met men who used its services and they were glad of it. www.firstdream.com.

Mail order Brides is inherently dangerous,
it boils down to two Essential situations, A man who either
A) prefers Eastern block girls, simply as some people prefer a race or accent etc.. or
B) some one who is in need of a woman period, who has problems or
difficulties getting a relation ship, or just needs sex.

the women, however are wanting to get out of their country, or are associating Americans or Westerners in General as being wealthy and want a taste of that. tread carfully, every one, because there are too many stories of broken hearts and Jaw bones from victims of such scams,
we hear about the women who marry the men and then refuse to have sex witrh him so he beats her "Allegidly" and she files for her GC w/out his support, then on th eother hand you have the men who sponcer a woman to come over and then abuse her threatening to send her back if she doesn't do what she is told.. there are countless stories of that sort, and malicious web site owners taking your money by forcing Unwilling women to engage in this activity,

in an Ideal world, everyone Benifits, the Guy gets the girl, the girl gets a new life, and a legitimate Match maker gets a few $$ for the trouble,, but so many times it doesn't work like that..

Sure,when a man is seeking a women
30 years younger,he is going to have the same problems as he would
in any country.My fiancee would not leave
her family and friends,her apartment she

All of the fine Russian women,I have met,are very educated,work very
hard,
and appreciate kindness and love,in a
manner I have never seen.Most of the mature Russian women,have not
thrown out their family values,and as long as their

give back

There are always going to be the standard fools,who may think a woman
from an impoverished country,will do any thing,to
come to the land of milk and honey.In some cases that may be true.Most

In a relationship based on need or greed.

As you stated,you have no personal,
experience with what you have warned
the group about.Until you do,maybe you could keep your wealth of

So Basically..
you aggree with me, but explained how it's not the case with you, thats fine, and I do not have personal experience, but my mother used to be a case worker for a Battered Womens home, it's through her experience, dealing with Battered Immigrant Women who never knew their rights, and helping the police get information on people who pimp out the brides.
some were from behind the Iron curtan, but most were from empoverished far eastern countrys. so your right I do not have a wealth of knowledge, only a Fool would say they have, but what little I have is based on what facts I know from the one person I trust, from which I convey a word of caution, to these who didn't know.

if it's not the case with you, so be it, Good luck, live long and prosper etc..
if you dissagree, talk about it, We'll weigh up what you and I know and whoever is right, normally gets voted right by other Netizens.
but don't be sarcastic or rude,
your wasting yours and my time on petty taunts if you do that.

Could we call a truce on this one? I think you both make some valid points. All is not rosy in the world of former USSR website ladies, nor is it all a scam.It's not to be ruled out as a way to meet some legitimate, interesting people who are looking to broaden their horizons. Caveat Emptor!! That applies to all non "in person" meetings, not just these websites. You/they have freedom of choice to choose the method to approach and proceed. In a perfect world everything works all the time for everyone and it's wonderful. It's not a perfect world which is why we have this forum, ))
