I've communicated with her privately (and expressed my apologies, and
she understood) and her and I are getting along fine and I'm providing
her with all the information I can. Seems only 'others' are the ones
having the 'fit'.

Great, but it was a public post, so that is why you got a public
reaction.

The point was you made an assumption and she clarified her view to you
privately.
The issue is that she shouldn't have to clarify why she posted rather
than him.
You concluded something about him with the only evidence being she
posted and not him.

Mr. Travel,

I totally agree with you except for one thing... I didn't 'conclude', I
merely pointed out the possibility.

Hi, dear people on the site!
I am thankful to you for your correction and your protection of my fiance's reputation!
It seems you were insulted more than me. I understand your reaction, knowing American carachter and mentality and wish for justice!;-))
Really I understand Steve's concerns about me as well. Steve was worried about my correspondence here (not my fiance's), and that is very natural, as he already learned Russian women usually never participating in such forums. And indeed usually fiances are those who doing all the procedure, not the Russian fiancees. But being for the long time at the computers, as well as contacting with many American people (as I am an Engish Interpreter by profession), I have became more like American woman (in good meaning) and participating in the process together with my fiance. But he prefers to contact mostly government structures and do not like asking advice if he can receive it from official sources. Being a woman and wishing to be sure in all our deeds, I find it logical to find out the information asking advice from those people who had gone through this process already. So, i think I and my fiance have very good cooperation in all that work.
And, please, let us spend our time together mostly checking up the details of the proceedure, not going deeply in exploring relationship between fiancees and between each other. I would be more happy if I heard more replies about the question I was asking about in this thread, because to be with our beloved as soon as possible is the main goal of those who correspond here, isn't it?

Re: Russian born fiancees and namechecks

Nataliya,

For what its worth, thanks for those words. Also, I held on the phone
today for 1 hour and finally talked to someone at the state department
about the namechecks. First question they asked me was was my wife
Russian, and I told them no. So, they did have my case, but she told me
that it will take 6-8 weeks (more than twice the time the embassy told
me), and from what I'm reading, it might take 4 months for yours to
clear. I know it is not good news, but at least it is something more
than knowing nothing.

Good Luck! Steve

Hi!
As for Russian fiancees, as wel as for born in Russia, I was told by one man who went through that - it took for him almost three months for namechecks of his fiancee.
Also to find out how long it took for most people you can go to Davehollis site ( I am not sure I wrote the name correctly) and see the date of the 2nd NOA and the date of the Intervew.
I was also told by this man, that in case you have not heard from DOS for three months you can resubmit.

Re: Russian born fiancees and namechecks

it took us over 8 months to get the name check completed.
they stopped the 3 month resubmit policy several weeks ago.
