I would gently remind them that they are not the ones who get to decide who should or shouldn't have a full medical. I might even suggest that the media would be interested in the wasted $$ involved in performing procedures that are clearly not called for... and that perhaps even the PM's office might be interested! They can insist all they want - but it isn't required. If it isn't required and they insist that it is required, then it's easier to tell them that as soon as you're through there today, you'll be contacting the Embassy .....

You wouldnt want to tell them your going to be contacing an 800-misinformation line. So Embassy i think is the correct word.

Re: Request for Initial Evidence (I-485)
Another Case. My friend told me that her friend got an RFE for a medical from a K1 . She sent back a letter and got another copy of the recent I693 transcribed again. She got back a letter that they still insist on a medical .Her attorney also told her they can fight it again but it can also anni=oy the conoff and they can make it more difficult for approval. I disagree that this is not that common. This forum only represents a handfull of people. I have met several others in ex pats groups here in NYC and heard about quite alot of cases about RFE's for medicals on K1's in the last year or so. Also everyone of them was filed in Vermont and transfered to California. My attorney said that sometimes the medicals also get "lost" .Apparently they didn't have a record of my husbands medical even though he had to get it for hisd K1 approval.USCIS originally lost the G-28 form my attorney filed stating that she is my attorney. They said they never had an attorney for me on record. My attorney contacted them and had to send in another copy of the form and pointed out her signature is on my other forms as well. I hope that you get approved with just the I693 supplement.
