Default Request for additional evidence or information - has this happened to anyone?

I just got a request for additional evidence or information from the
NSC. Has anyone ever gone through this? What's the process? How long
does it delay the 2nd NOA? What does it mean? How did you deal with
it? I still haven't actually received the letter, so I'm not sure
exactly what the request is. I just looked at the case status website
and it said they've sent the letter to me.

Thanks

Hi
this happend to me too.
My 1NOA was Oktober29.02 then they asked me for more information on Nov.21.02
( stupid I did send them a International wedding cetificat and they did not get
that it was International.)
well since then I do not have an up date.
I do not wont to scare you but, I am still waiting.
First the INS told me it would take up to 3 month now it is over 4 month more
like 5 .
I wish you good luck.
And hope you do not have to wait as long.

Hasn't happened to me, but from reading others' experiences, it sounds like you do NOT have to get back in line.

Once you mail in your stuff, they should start processing it again asap..

When was your first NOA?

May I ask what the RFE is for?

Good luck,
Sunny

Unless you happen to get an RFE from the CSC ....... we are now on day 76 of waiting for them to verify the additional material we had to send!!!

Our case is not complicated in any way, the RFE was sent as Kem's divorce papers were not complete and we needed to send another copy. Everyone told us that on returning the RFE we would be processed quickly!!!

Since filing the I-129F we have been waiting nearly 5 months ....... it took us six weeks to gather all the material together to submit the I-129F ...... if we ever get the 2nd NOA we will have to wait another 2 months for the appointment at the Embassy, etc.,............ so our timeline looks set at being 8 months minimum from start to finish ........ and possibly up to 14 months (according to the guidelines given by the CSC).

1st NOA was 9/23/02

I still haven't received the letter, so I don't know what it's
regarding. I just know they sent it to me from checking the online
case status site.

it took us 170 days just to get the RFE, so we're still behind you.
CSC, as I understand it, moves a lot faster than NSC. If you call your
congressmen, they have people with a direct line into the BCIS who can
help pull your RFE response out of the mail room. Good luck.

Hi,

If you are talking about the K-1 visa, then yes, I was asked for additional info. All in All my case took 190 days to process, I had my local congressman's office working along with me the entire time. As for the additional info, I looked around for any post cards, pictures, emails, letters by post and anything else that I didn't include in the first packet. I even had my fiance write a few extra letters so I would have to send in to immigration. Now we are married and have been since July 5th, 2000 and we are filing our I-751. I believe they are just trying to get more proof of your relationship together and confirm the fact that you are entering this in good faith and that the 2 of you have actually met each other.
