Received two copies of AP
My wife received two official copies of her AP, with multiple paroles allowed.
Is it normal to receive two? Does someone at the POE keep one upon our arrival, or do they just need to review it?

Yes it is normal. And some people if getting the AP from the local office might get three.
In most cases one copy if retained the first time you use it and you are left with one. They will enter the information on the database, mark it with your new I-94, parole you into the US usually indefinitely (which is really only as long as the AP is in effect) and 99% of the time will retain one copy which goes back to the USCIS for your file.

Hi Eric,
John got three AP copies. When we went thru customs the first time they kept the copy. We had two more to use before Nov 2004. It is like a get out of jail free card lol :P

Re: Received two copies of AP
Our documents were filed at the local office in Jacksonville, FL and forwarded to the MSC.
We mailed the documents on March 22, rec'd NOA on Mar 31, and rec'd AP documents on July 6th with an approval date of June 22.
Our reason for the AP was to spend holidays in my wife's country, which we stated in our request letter for the AP.

* you can't apply for AP without applying for your AOS
* AP = Advanced Parole
Visit USCIS.gov for more detailed info on it.

Okey! But you can't apply for an AP before´you've sent in the AOS request, right? Just curious. Also, what does AP stand for?

Re: Received two copies of AP
I had two APs sent to me stapled together. Neither one was kept at POE when I came back to the US, just stamped and dated.

Well, consider yourself one of the lucky ones, my friend, I'm glad for
you.
I sent the forms out for my AP in the middle of March and I have a
receipt date of March 30th which is going thru the MSC too. I haven't
heard a single word. :-(
And the reason that I gave was "only" so I could visit my 2 oldest
children who live there with their father, that's all. Guess it wasn't
a good enough reason or something. Sorry if I sound bitter, but I am.
The freakin website says that you should apply for AP at least THREE
WEEKS before you intend to travel...ha that's a laugh. My "intended"
dates of travel have now come and gone and by the time my AP gets to
me, I probably won't be able to use it. I was applying for AP for my
youngest daughter too, so it looks like I've wasted well over 200
bucks.
