Yep, he's going to be doing them this weekend. The checklist will be sent back the same day he receives it, so that's a go....

Oh, and about the interview! Mr. Pink is not rude OR weird and his nose is of complimentary proportion to his face, so I do believe he'll be ok. He just happens to be marrying the rude weirdo, with the fat nose. LOL! (still chuckling......)

Karen, I know you had an unusual situation with your petition needing to be sent to London quickly and your interview was done very fast to accomodate your wedding date----when the petition arrived at London, how did you become aware of that? Did you email or call, or did they contact you because they were aware of your situation?

Sounds strange to say this, but we're not in a HUGE hurry except to get the packet three and interview date papers sent---Poor Mr. P is going to have to be moving in with his parents in two weeks due to the house he's staying in now being sold. We don't want to have to deal with change of address at this point. Planning for travel the second week of February if all goes well--lots of details with the business and all to be taken care of and he will need some time after visa is in hand.

So, what's your best estimate as to how fast the checklist is sent, and subsequently the interview date?

I hope Mr Pink knows NOT to take her to the interview. She'll be all rude and weird. She'll probably try to put the ConOff in a time out. Sheesh..........

They called me coz they were very aware of my situation! I shall be eternally thankful to Mrs Paste - she pronounced it "Pastai" Lovely, helpful lady.

The interview date very much depends on what date you give as expected date of travel. They are frightfully accomodating so work out a date that isn't too far ahead but is also realistic. As for Packet 3, Mr Pink could have it as early as by the end of this week - maybe...?

I think the total wait is a combination of a paricular group of countries and the particular consolate. You would be a good timeline for London. The comprison I know best is between Kiev/Ukrain (non-auto-review) Vs Moscow(auto-review). I was approved on Nov 3rd but I am still at the NVC for over 5 weeks. The typical wait for Moscow is 3 and 1/2 months after NOA2. Kiev is typically less than 2 months. However if the case needs extra checks the timeline goes up. From what I have seen , China is a slightly worse case than say Moscow because of that particular Embassy. For most countries, it is all about the embassy.
I have no idea where I am because I am put on hold at the NVC.
My solution to the problem is to see her in Budapest on the New Year. If it were not so, I would be beyond depressed. As it is on am on the cheerfult side of somewhat despondent.
I have since developed the technique of using a grimice as momentum to force out a Mona Lisa smile. :-) .....see.

Congrats on your speedy jaunt through NVC.
Just as an fyi, it took 5 days for my packet to get from NVC to London.

The London consulate staff absolutely rock. they respond to all emails pretty speedily (usually within a few hours) and they actually work to help you (shock horror).

Hope the rest of your experience goes smoothly and you make the Valentines deadline
