Yep and I have an added benefit, it glosses over my stupidity. On the 13th, the day of approval, my Mom called. Went like this...

Mom: Your fiancee just called me from Thailand...

Me: Why? What's up?

Mom: She just wanted to wish me Happy Birthday.

Me: Your birthday is today?

She is so excited it was approved on her birthday, she forgot that I forgot...

Yes, in all the excitement it is easy to forget those who are still waiting. Even though I didn't say it, I always have those who are in the limbo of the lost at heart. Soulsender, I know it probably hurts a bit to see someone after you get an approval, but hang in there.

I checked several case numbers for my day, April 3, 5 out of the 14 numbers I had were approved on the 13th. No RFE's. One thing I noted is that the BCIS says there online status is updated throughout the business day. I checked my status, and had none. 30 minutes later I was getting ready to go to bed, I checked again just for fun and it showed approved. The time in California was 5AM on the 14th. I don't think they update throughout the day, I think they run their database scripts at night. Check whenever you can....

Great to hear msrourke, Unfortunately it isn't over - thats only the first stage. The total time it takes is about 9 month, after this there is another form, and then there is an interview and a medical and it goes on... by the way, hope you have a police record to hand, as they require this and police records take 40 days to arrive.

Congratulations, you have cleared the biggest hurdle, and at least you can begin the true count down...whether there are more hurdles or not, today is a happy day. I am so happy for you!

Yes. The Bangkok Embassy let her pick up a Packet 3 last week which she pretty much completed. She has relatives that are cops, so she got her police certificate in an hour or so this morning. I just got off the phone with embassy (Fortunately my job requires a lot of interface with the staff there and I know quite a few folks) and they opened a provisional file this morning and told me she could turn in her Packet 3 today. She finished off the forms with today's date and is on the road now to BKK. That pretty much leaves the medical and interview. I have letters from our family therapist and the military requesting an early interview date, the Visa Unit said they will try to get her in by the end of the month. Hopefully it all comes together, but I'm not holding my breath.....
