Default Preparation for IR-1 interview.

I have my interview next Tuesday (28th), and I have compiled my interview package, please let me know if you can think of anything I might have missed thanks!!

- Passport and 2 photos
- Birth certificates for me, my husband, son, and the two from my children from my first marriage (they aren't immigrating with me) and photocopies of all birth certs, plus my son's CRBA and photocopy.
- Marriage and divorce papers from both our previous marriages, our marriage certificate and photocopies of those documents
- Police certificate and photocopy
- My husband's I-864 and tax transcripts and photocopy of his passport
- FIL's I-864, copies of his 1040's, 1099's and photocopy of his passport
- my DS-230 part 2
- FIL's I-864a in case they ask for that instead of the I-864.
- My medical papers from my appointment in Knightsbridge
- My contact order for seeing my kids (if they ask for any type of proof that they live with their dad)
- A signed letter from my FIL stating we can live with him for as long as we like
- Additional photocopies of the whole interview package in case they're needed for any reason
- Evidence of Intent to Domicile:
2 bank letters confirming our joint accounts are closed
Copy of email from Home Depot inviting my husband for a talk to do with prospective job
Email from shipping company mentioning our telephone conversation
Receipt from Walmart for a bed we got our son, with my in laws address on it, paid for by me
My letter of resignation from my job
Other emails from companies my husband has contacted for employment

For others reading this thread, Emma is doing a London DCF case. If you are reading this but have filed the I-130 in the USA, your visa interview materials will be different.

Are the Photocopies of the sponsor and joint sponsor requested or a 'just in case'?

Case letter and interview letter worth listing too.

Keep in mind that if it is preferred by the ConOff to use the I-864A and show FIL as a contributing household member, a different I-864 from your husband will also be needed. So hubby will actually have two different I-864's on hand - one showing his income alone, and one showing his income combined with FIL's income.

Emma is providing original I-864s and photocopies of backup evidence to be handed over at the interview.

If she's bringing photocopies of those documents, they are a "just in case" thing.

Yes I have those too, and yes I photocopied the whole interview package just in case, like the I-864's, etc. All of it.

One thing what did come up on our was my wife's first marriage divorce decree was needed, luckly I had it. (Used a photocopy and he was happy with that).

And they also asked if I had any contact with him and know this name, not should what it had to do with the visa lol

When you have your interview your go to the first window think something like windows 1-11 to hand in your Brith certs, police cert etc and your I-864 forms and IRS taxes proof.

Then told to take a sat read the pink form they give you about DX and delivery of your passport and visa, after you have gone and paid the money at the cashie. Which is located in the Interview section on the left hand side, took me a while to read the sign above the booths lol

Then take a seat and then get called for the interview, really friendly and polite you have no problem here. Any supporting document they need they will ask for. (I got worry while waiting for the interview to find out where all the documents I had gathered had to be handed in).

Then they tell you your visa approved and go and spend yes more money lol on getting it deliver in 7-10 days time. At the DX centre where you entry the hall. We optioned at 10:00am del and cost about £26 but were cheaper option and early delivery times.

If you want to know anything else just let me know

p.s. Your be fine! everything will be OK! We did it lol but at sametime glad its all over.

Apologies, my error in my original post - I omitted the word "Passports" - are the copies of the sponsors passports required for submission with the I-1864's?

I know that others have also mentioned photographs - so photos of you and your spouse together, and I believe some have taken their I-130 packages.

The sponsor and joint sponsor must show proof of US citizenship. A photocopy of the US passport can be such proof. A photocopy of the birth certificate could also be used.

Although the sponsor will already have established they are a USC at the I-130 stage. Doesn't hurt to take a photocopy of their passport just in case though, but I'd be surprised if it was asked for. Proof of the Joint Sponsor's US citizenship definitely will be asked for.
