Default PLEASE HELP: IMPORTANT - If No One Will Help, At Least Point Me To The Right Place, Please.

My wife is waiting for the consulate near her to send packet
#3, since the I-129F for a K-3 was approved. She is in BC, Canada.
Does anyone know if she'll need anything from me? I could send it to
her and have it there waiting for the packet if I know in advance. It
takes like three to four weeks for her to get anything I mail, so
additional delays for one or two forms would be a pain.
Thanks.

Hi,

You will have to send her an Affidavit of Support form I-134. This wil prove
that you can support her while she is with you.

Why does it take the mail 3 to 4 weeks if she's only in Canada? It only takes about 6 to 8 days for things I mail to get to Eric in France.

FedEx it if you're worried about the mail being slow.

Glad to be of some service. You can also go to www.k1faq.com and this should
help you with anything you need.

Thank you very much. I'll be downloading that now, if it's
available.

After your wife gets Packet 3, she will need do a medical, a police clearness. you can start on those, then use FED-EX to send the info she needs from you. It only cost $20 and it will get to canada the next day.

If it is going to take 6-8 weeks u r already late.....:-)

I must come to his/her defence..........My fiance lives in Alberta, if I mail him something it takes about two weeks and sometimes longer. It is crazy! Don't know why this is, even if I send it priority..........same thing. But it is best to go Airborn, or Fedex, UPS for package...........more expensive, but also more reliable.

She lives "deep" in British Columbia, in a real small town,
and the mail service is painfully slow. (Everything passes through
Vancouver before being sent up there.) I've usually Fed-Exed things
overnight, and they still take that long. From what I'm told, it's
standard.

Actually if they are in Vancouver and doing the K-3 they don't need the
I-134. I just went through Vancouver and for some strange reason they don't
request it. But here are some things the Canadian Citizen will need

Long Form Birth Certificate from you
Marriage Certificate
Pictures of you and a Biographic Form done (G-325 I think)

Hope that helps.

Got it, and now I'm wondering about the form itself. For personal
property, does it mean my car, computer, stereo, and stuff like that?

Should I attach a report of my stocks, since it talks about an
attached form, even though it says nothing about that in the
instructions for evidence of support?

Partially or wholly depedent? She's in Canada, and works....will be
wholly dependent here, but not right now.

Blasted bureaucrats....I wish I could rewrite these forms. I'd make it
much simpler. Probably anyone who has gone through all this could,
really.

Sigh....well, it does, actually. I emailed the Vancouver
consulate, and will wait for their reply, but I think I'll fill out
every stinkin' form I can and give them to her just in case. I have
extra Biographic forms, and can get a picture tomorrow. Do they need
our original marriage certificate and my birth certificate, or
photocopies? I'd rather not send the originals, for good reason.
Thanks.

Knightheart,

You can order copies of your birth certificate here http://www.vitalcheck.com/. I ordered 2 at the cost of $15. The ones I received are the ones with my mom and dad's names on them with a raised seal from the state.

It only took about 8 business days to get them. And they do have rush delivery if needed.

If I'm not mistaken, she'll need the originals for the interview.
