Hi all,
Just wanted to get a feel for whether I just need to relax and be more patient!
I entered the US as a CR1 on November 24th. As yet, I have no welcome letter, no permanent resident card, and the local social security administration says I haven't been entered on any systems by DHS.
I rang the USCIS number on Thursday last week. The first person I spoke to said that if it is more han 30 days with no letter, then they needed to escalate the call. After 30 minutes on hold, I was put through to person number 2 who just said - no, we have no record of your alien number on the Green Card production system. I asked if there was a record of my entry on November 24th- again, she said no. She told me to just be patient, and give them another 30 days!
Does this sound reasonable or normal? It's getting very hard to settle in and feel like I've even moved here without simple stuff like an SSN. When I landed at Dulles the guy in secondary just took a fingerprint and had me sign a blank form - I'm beginning to wonder if he then lost it and they don't even know I'm here!!
And given the response on the phone line, is there anything I can do other than just wait?

Follow up or be patient; you'll get the same result:

It seems to be a data entry issue. But who ever knows for sure?
You CAN apply to SSA for your card with the evidence you have; you MAY get a faster result for your SS number.
