Default and our timeline starts...

Thanks for all the messages here, I have been reading this board for a
few months now.

My fiancee and I want to get married in August or October, and she
will be applying through the Vermont Service Centre, with my
application handled through the London consulate.

I sent the stuff to her to send the I-129F around the start of next
week when she receives my bio form and proof we have met etc... do you
think those dates are acheivable?

Timeline to date :- 04/22/03 - Sent my bio form and proof of meeting
to my fiancee - should arrive around 04/27/03.

She will be sending the application to Vermont before the end of
April.

Thanks in advance,
Lee

Hope all goes well for you. Good thing that you get to use Vermont, as they seem to be the fastest

I would think end of August would be fine. VSC is super fast.

I would say your timeline is totally achievable.
You are lucky that you are going through VSC. So many of us have wished that we had that option.

well....vermont are the favorites....good that you can go quickly thro' them.........my fiance lives just 28 miles from virginia border in roxboro north carolina....virginia use vermont service centre............but i will be going thro' texas service centre which is 5 times slower.........if i came under vermont i'd be really enthusiastic at only being months away from interview to be with my love.......so i'd get quick to it.........but instead......it's gonna be months and months and months of waiting....and waiting....so the enthusiasm just isn't there....infact...i feel like going over illegal....even if i get banned for 3yrs......well 1/2 that time would have been taken up waiting for texas anyway...........how can it happen that congress allows texas to be 5 times slower than vermont and the situation allowed to carry on......surely in court.....that would be a good case to put forward for any attourney...........people that fed up with waiting for texas that they're prepared to come over illegal........it's bleeding annoying....all the centres should be of similar performance and efficiency........5 times slower is terrible

I can hear the igniters on the flame throwers as I type. ;-)

In this case, the USC is in NC, and must file through TSC.....but the USC is
very close to Virginia, whose residents file through VSC. What would be the
ramifications for the USC and fiancé if the USC used an address at a
Virginia Mail Boxes, etc or some other postal drop and filed with TSC?

Nothing is a sure thing (just keep that in mind) but seeing as you are going through VSC and London chances are good you will be flying through this process in no time at all.

Things change each and every day so just remember to stay realistic and focused. I have seen to many people have to change their *paid for* weddings because of extended time lines.

We were all set to cruise through CSC in about 30 days time just before we submitted they changed the timeline to 205-235 days and here we still wait.

I don't want to sound like the downer I hope all works out and you breeze through this process

Tiff,

Is that really true about CSC being at 200+ days? If so that is really horrible. I am at NSC and originaly it was supposed to be 70-100 then they changed it to 150-180. Like you, here I wait also. Our dates are not too far off, we are probably experiencing the same insanity levels

I wouldn't be so optimistic. It took us 6 months to get K-1 approval through VSC. And we had to bug the Congressman's office and spend hours on the phone. We didn't get an RFE, just didn't hear anything from VSC for 6 months. Maybe we are the exceptions, I don't know. I think it's best to wait for the approval before making any definate plans. Sorry to put a damper on things but it is important to be realistic. We learnt it the hard way!

Fun,

I would tend to think you are the exception rather than the rule. Most VSC K1 petitons I've seen here and other sites have been done in usually about 3 weeks (including my own).

Tis true Scott, although following the time lines they run approvals in about 80+ days but it is heartbreaking each time you check your case status and you hear 205 - 235 days to process this kind of application. This was changed about 2 weeks before we submitted our file

But you know you can never tell with these centers, all you can do it wait and wait and wait.

Tiff, I see you and I share the same NOA 1 date .. betcha get yours first! I see the new dates Matt Udall posted, yours should only be a couple of weeks maximum!
